No, winning the comp means only one person liked your image. There is only one judge. ( hence Stefan's good idea for the voting comp) I know people who change images to suit the judge!
It was a good idea: Just waiting for the entries for the Night-time voting competition to be posted.

I am happy taking photos for me to enjoy. I don't feel the need to grandstand them. It is my hobby and amuses me. I don't much care what others think of my efforts. If I am happy with them that is all that matters.
If you don't want to share any of your images that's obviously completely up to you. thoughton wrote:

No I don't post photos in the gallery, I have stated elsewhere why I don't do that. And you post loads of images to the gallery anyw ..... ah, nevermind.

Saying you don't share them because you had one 'stolen' in the past is a bit weak (that is merely my opinion, of course) Did you lose income from having that photo 'stolen'? Did it deprive you of the chance to look at the photo again? No? So what are you scared of?

Tim we are getting way off topic here.
Did I lose income? No I am not a professional photographer. But two of my photos have been used illegally, without my permission, one by someone on another forum claiming they took the photo and one by a company who should have known better. Since I don't have the money for a big legal fight and they were a big company with plenty of bucks behind them I had to let it go - although they did stop using the photo eventually. And no I will not be naming names.
When people shot film they showed their photos to friends and family, who may or may not have enjoyed them. Why now does everyone feel the need to share everything, and not just photos, with the entire world???
I will not be entering any competition on this forum, or anywhere else. It really doesn't matter that much in the great scheme of things does it?

No it doesn't matter All I'm saying is that If you don't want anyone else to see them then just say so, don't resort to the feeble excuse that you are trying to avoid having them 'stolen'. Using that as an excuse to not enter competitions is ever weaker IMO. Sorry Gwyn, just my (probably rather unpopular) opinion.

I never got why it just stopped. I suppose when the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.

Well you could try. Gwyn is entitled to an opinion and it should be respected, shouldn't it?

And you post loads of images to the gallery anyw ..... ah, nevermind.
Having had photos stolen in the past I am reluctant to post photos on the net. Little point in posting photos here for people to comment on when they are at such a low resolution as to be impossible to judge accurately.
