It's all abot the spec.

The Pentax battery is 7.4 Volt 1050mAh (7.8Wh)

The Hahnel spare I bought with my KR from SRS (£20 I think) is 1120mAh (8.3Wh)Can't tell them apart in use.

Many of the cheaper ones online are lower specification. Will still work though as long as they can put out 7.4 Volts reliably across the charge. Some batteries drop off early which the camera won't like.

Hi Bill...I have just checked the specs of the one i ordered.. seems to be the same spec as my pentax battery ..we'll see how it performs..but for £9 for spare i think it's good value for money..

Hi Chris

All my spare batteries, (both for the K10d's I had), and now the K7's are third party from China. In all cases they have performed equally as well as the expensive 'brandeds'

I doubt that you will even tell a difference.

I have a cheap oem battery too, it works fine, maybe not for quite as long as the original but long enough. Also bought a AA battery adaptor, both items from China via eBay for peanuts.
