Wanna bet how many moon shots and variations thereof get submitted? I thinking of one myself

Kris entered a photo for a comp a while back that would have been perfect. Five spaceships flying in formation if i recall correctly

I gather (IIRC) that you butt out after the first entry and then people will PM you for anything they want. clarifications etc. If you hang about here your judegment may get clouded by the hoots of approval for some images.

thanx... I read the contest rules now..... will do..
I know I picked a tough one... but come on people... Speilberg used a Christmas tree ornament for a spaceship in E.T.... it isn't as hard as you might think...

Assuming the usual rule that photos have to be taken during the two weeks applies, rather than submitting old pics?

Dan
K-3, a macro lens and a DA*300mm...

That makes sense to me, if that is the way it is being done, no point in changing it...
But I think that since this comp is one that people are encouraged to photoshop, build sets or models etc in order to create a space scene, or such... I would think that using an older shot within the project, would seem acceptable providing there is something new shot in the timeframe... so say for example, you took an old shot of the moon, and placed it in a new shot of the night sky, with a new shot of a ufo I can't see anybody having an objection... or built a diorama using an old photo in the set and added some new elements and then photo's the diorama no harm... right? let us ask::::

any opinions? objections?

I relised that the image was older than two weeks. If you want to change the rules to forget the two week limit, I can always put in back! That decision is up to the current judge.
Best regards, John

I've made a reasonable compromise proposal above, I think if somebody wants to use an older image as PART of a new composition, then it should be allowed, as we are encouraging people to illustrate space, science fiction and it is a difficult subject...

trivia:
the "Transporter" technology idea invented for the original Star Trek series was Gene Roddenberry's solution to a low budget that did not allow them to film "Shuttle Crafts" flying and landing on alien worlds....
"Beam me up Scotty" was cheaper than flying! lol!

OK, that sounds reasonable. As my composite was older than 2 weeks, I'll start agin though.
