Colour seems fine to me. It could do with a little bit more exposure though.

a blue cast down the right side(from a reflection?)but all else seems fine.

dull, a tad too much green. But not much.

This is the result of some level changes; contrast, brightness up, highlights away from green, midtones towards red.

Thanks Peter,

I have been trying to print this on my Epson RX685 with elements 7 and Epson paper. I have windows XP. Whatever settings I use, the whole picture prints with a purple cast

I have tried solving this before and got fed up and left the problem. This time I am determined to sort it out.

Now I know it is not my computer or monitor I need to work on getting the printer to commuicate with it properly!! I think I will ask the boffins at Epson.

Barrie thanks - yes I think I was picking up a reflection

Bretti_Kevi yes is a little dull - it was a case of photographing in the shade. I like what you have done

I think I should attend a class in how to stop being lazy and learn to use photoshop. I think printing some out would encourage me. Viewing on the screen does not help me 'look' and review at a photograph properly.

If you can pinch a calibrator, I'd seriously think about it and check that your monitor is as "correct" as you think.

Are you shooting in RAW or JPG?

Which OS, which printer?

The colour appears ok to us as well, so the problem of the purple cast is not with Dave's monitor or the image. It must be to do with the printer or communication between computer and printer.

Dave since you're using all Epson are you can use the special colour profile that Epson has for his papers, are you using that?

communication between printer and computer is over a USB cable.

Driver or software or both. Possibly user error, but I don't see that (we also have a DX6000 and the prints it makes, especially on Epson paper) are good.

Yes but if he use the wrong printer profile then you can get colour casts.

I have reloaded the printer software from the Epson site.

My montor is calibrated with a Pantone Huey.

Operating sytem Windows XP

Photoshop elements 7

My photoshop elements and the printer are both set for SRGB.

The printing mediem is set for the epson photo paper I have.

The result is always a purple cast and changing the colour management sttings has no aparent effect.

So... do I give in?
