Well seen, well lit. Both work for me. The first says mysterious and slightly uncomfortable, second cousin to the multi-headed Hydra of Greek myth. The second says energy and excitement, a firework display in a flower. Take your pick!

A very nice visual treat. I prefer the darker version, more mystery, as Steve said above.

I have a slight preference for the darker shot too - but both exhibit great control of the lighting, perfect depth of focus and superb detail. That lens was always my favourite back in my film 645 days, great to see it's still class leading

A slightly different point of focus for each shot making the second one more appealing to me as the foreground stamen(?) (ie bits!) are all in focus. However the brighter exposure has highlit the distraction in the 'dark' gap background; so for me the lighting of the first with the focus of the second!
