Hi chaps,
My daughter got her K-x all fogged up months ago and now there is a smeery film on the inside of the viewfinder, quite bad. Is there any way to get in there to clean it without taking the top off the camera ?
cheers
Pete
ps, I am talking about the viewfinder not the focussing screen

Do you know what caused the fogging up? Have you considered it might be the pentamirror rather than the viewfinder eyepiece?

Hi Barrie,
Yep she was on top of the Jungfrau and probably going inside would have done it.
I don't think it is the pentamirror. The murk looks like it is immediately on the other side of the viewfinder.
No idea why it went greasy, maybe they were having a heavy fry up in there
cheers

I would have thought condensation from that sort of temperature change would go once the camera warmed up again. I saw the K-x has a mirror system, rather than a prism, and wondered if it was more susceptible to damage.
I've only changed the focus screen on a K20 and can not remember what you can see with the screen out. That's the only way I can think of having a look without a major dismantle.
