The other forum has a mobile version and its so clunky. I wouldn't mind if they gave you a Choice but they don't.

Pleased the reader arrived ok

Gary - all you need to do is untick or disable 'Mobile View' in your phone's internet settings.

FWIW I think this forum works fine on mobile devices without a mobile version - the simple layout works well. The other forum has a more complicated and more feature-packed structure, that I sometimes struggle to navigate on a mobile.

I had a near miss last year with £350 of our savings, but after almost 3 weeks of sweating I finally got my item.

Turns out I wasn't the first, or last forum member to struggle with a transaction with this particular member.

I have though, bought and sold through the classifieds successfully a number of times and have found everyone else I have dealt with to be trust worthy.

Unfortunately there are those amongst us that are simply just not honest, shame, but true.

Not sure how we can ever moderate such folk.
But you got the item eventually?

Sounds more like disorganisation than dishonesty.

I would like to hope so George...

I would say about this , I have no problems buying or selling here but it really would be nice when you send off the article you have sold to be told it has arrived !

I concur...but watching the issue in the classifieds that does not appear to have been resolved does bother me, in all but one cases I've sent my items tracked so if I don't get acknowledgement straight away I can see from the couriers site they have been received...as it is we have the perspective of only the buyer.....and question marks over the seller.

Unfortunately some will walk away after a transaction has given them what they want, with no interest in commenting further. It is indeed a missed opportunity for both sides to give feedback.

It is just good manners to thank the seller and tell the rest of the forum that you had a happy transaction, when the item arrives. It also helps to build confidence in you and the other party, across the forum.

On the bank transfer, I don't like putting my bank details over a non secure Internet route, even PM on here. I always ask for a phone number and offer mine by PM. As with a cheque, I know who has had my bank details and it has not been broadcast to the planet. The other plus is you usually have a pleasant conversation with the other forum member!

I've never had any problems with Bank transfer - yes details have always been exchanged off Forum Boards - usually PM and I normally tell the vendor as soon as the Transfer has gone through - I feel it's only courteous. Trust certainly builds up this way.

There are some members here I would very happily do business with at any time - whether it's photographic stuff or anything else - others well ............
