Yes Howard a very enjoyable day indeed although my old knees and back did some complaining later on
Very disappointed with my images of the Duchess, With the bright sun behind her glare was a problem for me, but you seem to have done better Howard. Anyway here`s some of my efforts for the day. (still cant decide if that Morris dancer is a he or a she)

HJ himself. We had a bit of trouble persuading Howard to take his coat off yesterday, I think he must have a load of fifty pound notes stitched in the lining!

So while some of us were chasing Goths in Whitby at the weekend you guys were enjoying yourselves in Chester. You got some good shots, I love the humorous ones. As for the black Duchess, I'm waiting for it to come a bit nearer to Durham (Carlisle perhaps?) and then I'm determined to snap it. You managed to get good pictures of it, despite the angle of the sun.

Hello Cliff and Howard,
Great three-quarter shots of the Duchess, both of you and I like the Morris Dancer and the birds lifting off.
I can't see a problem with the Sun in your Duchess pic, Cliff.
I had wondered about going on the tour, as it originated in Lincoln and came through Nottingham but thought that it could not live up to the trip I took behind her over Shap last year.
Regards
Peter

Thank you all for your kind comments.
I did take my coat off - in the car on the way home So, Cliff, if you find any £50 notes in the boot they're mine Hope you all noticed the fashionable baggy trousers
To get my own back (not really) here's one of our Cliff in action on the bridge.

and a perfect example of how one should be careful when taking a photo - I find this quite amusing a morris dancer with a lamp on his head.
