We remember him as a 'glamour photographer' whose portraits of royalty and celebrities were published in the glossy mags of the time. There is an interesting article about his war-time career, including a spell as an official photographer with the Ministry of Information, in the latest issue of "Despatches", the newsletter for the Friends of the IWM. Unfortunately this is not readable on-line. I have written to the Editor to ask if it would be possible for "Despatches" to be made available on-line. I'll let you know if this becomes possible.
