Camera Strap?

I too use the optec- pro straps and find them very good.

I also use the optec 2 camera harness (availlable through the Ephotozine shop via the "SHOP" tab at the top of page). If carrying even one camera for an extended period of time it is extremly comfortable due to the way the weight is distributed onto both shoulders; its also one of the few practical solutions to carrying two cameras.
Good luck

I just got my Black Rapid in the post, and its AWESOME.

Really comfortable, it balances around the shoulder and you can't feel the weight of the camera at all!

Just mounted with DA200, grip, and af540 flash, and it feels maybe 50% less heavy than with the pentax strap. Awesome!

The problem for me with the Black Rapid is that I have my Arca Siwss QR plate permanently on the camera so I couldn't attach the strap too. I would have to spend time taking the strap off and putting the plate on which would quickly prove to be a PIA.

I'll stick with my two very comfortable OpTech straps.

Mike I've been looking at a Lowepro Transporter strap, mainly because it is plain black without any advertising and has quick release catches.

Also, you can unclip it easily which is helpful with tripod/copystand type work.
Anything which can be unclipped more easily is IMHO more likely to unclip itself. Of course we're Pentaxians so if our cameras fall they'll make divots in whatever they fall on rather than themselves

As I found out once when my camera fell and I decided to try and break its fall by sticking out my foot.

I bought a Pentax SLR Neoprene strap from SRS before I went away - £13.99 and very comfortable

Compared to the Optech strap though the connectors are different, it doesn't have the same ones as Optech so you can't interchange them but a good strap all the same.

It looks like the connectors are similar to the strap supplied with the cameras.

Tim,

Thought you should know that Amazon are currently selling the Lowepro Transporter range at really good prices. Just bought one and very pleased with it.

Two words of advice: OPTECH NEOPRENE
2x K10D bodies, 2x FA 28-200 3.8-5.6, DA 18-55, A 50 F2, 50mm Macro, 360 FGZ. Still saving for the 60-250 DA* Also have a Z10 35mm and a K1000 just for fun. IF PENTAX IS THE ANSWER, WHO CARES WHAT THE QUESTION IS...!

Sorry guys - gotta disagree .................I always liked the Optech system for its quick release and comfort but lately have preferred to use a leather hand grip or a leather wrist strap attached to a clip and one ES11 chrome triangular clip fitted to the K20D.They keep me attached to my investment and are not tiring on the shoulders or reminiscent of Japanese holidaymakers.I like big pockets to hide the beast in if it gets iffy outdoors and my old ( 25 years ?? ) CCS Warthog is a brilliant holster for serious weatherproofing or protection ( it does bounce ! )
