I use a small bumbag to carry filters, a couple of batteries, a cleaning cloth etc., but not for proper camera gear. I need my Lowepro backpack for that!

It all depends on what I'm carrying in the bag. I went through a spell with Lowe Slingshots but they start to look very tatty quite quickly and disappoint in build quality compared with Billinghams. Currently I have the grey Pentax Q bag with a body and five lenses in an impossibly small package or the Billingham Hadley Digital which takes a DSLR with a zoom and maybe a prime or two. Neither, of course are bum bags and neither come with shoulder pads so they slip unless you wear them across your body. I can't really imagine a bum bag with something as bulky as a DSLR.

I've recently changed my strap to an Optech Sling Strap and also thought it was pain with my Lowepro MiniTreker.
However; I persevered and now I put the sling strap on first followed by the back pack, this works very well as I'm able to offload the back pack whenever I need to change a lens or dig a filter etc out and the camera stays put as I do so.
A bum bag sounds like a pain in the a****

I have several bags, but now the camera is on a sling strap they a right royal pain most of the time. So a bumbag type of affair seems a reasonable solution.
I have been tempted by this, though not at that price - it is much cheaper here, and it is not a current bag. I could pack it when flying and use the back pack as carry on, then use it when out an and about for instance.
Any suggestions or recommendations gratefully received.
