I've got one of those. Styling is very much of its time, isn't it...

Hmm, see, the advice on the Dimitrov K mount site is that the grip for the Z series bodies is just a bit of moulded plastic (it doesn't enable the use of other batteries).
The grip for the Z-1 is not completely useless, the one I have has a leather strap (which still allows use of the neck strap) to encircle your right hand, surpised it's still not an option on later straps...Hmm, see, the advice on the Dimitrov K mount site is that the grip for the Z series bodies is just a bit of moulded plastic (it doesn't enable the use of other batteries).
Oddly, I can't use my Z-1p without the grip and strap, yet on the Z-1 I am happy to use the camera without....

I saw a hack a while (years) back where the Z-1 grip had been adapted and it has sufficient space for 4 AAa. Contacts can be made into the battery compartment. I haven't got the link now but I'll do a search later through my archives. However, it is easier finding 2CR5 batteries than a grip strap!

I don't know of any current suppliers of glass 1/4 plate, I last used those in the early 70's when I worked in a metallurgy laboratory.I wonder where one gets 1/4 plate film.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I still think the MZ range fit the original post best.
I've just taken delivery of a SF1n (SFXn) and am amazed at the size of it.
Indeed Honesty asked if it was a 'digital' body it's that big!
Where as the MZ bodies are, in comparison, tiny. Even with the FG battery grip fitted.

Yep, they're not renowned for subtlety
I even bothered to get an ERC for mine to keep the rain off, after having to use all manner of creative tricks to avoid it getting soaked on a wet Sunday in Cardiff Bay a while ago.

An update
well I have got a Super A and a couple of m lenses.. not sure if i should have got A lenses. I got a bit carried away and bought these without double checking the difference
Will I still be able to use aperture priority on the super A with an m lens?
Meeting with HG to look over his cameras next week.

Yep, in some cases I find the M lenses preferable. The A 50/1.7 has a plastic aperture ring which doesn't have the precise clicks of the M lens.
It will work just like an ME Super with an M lens, although you have an LCD shutter speed readout in the viewfinder (and on the top plate) rather than the LEDs and scale.

The Bingley Lunch Camera meet was a success, Dave went away wanting EVERYTHING!!!
Having seen and handled several bodies he seemed a little happier about maybe buying another body or 2, we shall see...
...and he has some foam to replace his mirror buffer on the A.

I think we created some photography interest in the pub with the cameras coming out one by one for inspection and discussion of their finer points.
Thanks for your help HG
