Well, tax evasion is a criminal offence, and ordering through them you may be committing a crime, so be careful.
If they're saying that they will refund the duty and VAT that you must pay to you, that's fine.
If they're saying that they will mark the item as a gift, then you are breaking the law by accepting the imported item.
I would seek out a more reputable dealer.

I was talking to chap a few months ago who had bought from one of these "we refund you import duty" ebay sellers. seems he had no problems in getting them to credit him with the import tax.
The way I see this is the seller knows they can provide you with equpment cheaper than you can buy it it the UK, so they inflate thier price to cover the cost of import duty, if they get away with it they make a few extra bucks, if not then they get from you what they would normallly sell it for anyway....swings and roundabouts.
Of course the only problem the buyer has is worryning about who covers the warranty

In reality it seems duty is rarely applied to items from the far east.
I spoke to my postman the other day who told me that they get about 2000 parcels from the far east per month and that during the past 4 years they have only had to collect duty for 2. Max duty was £25 + royal mail handling fee. Seems that duty is only applied if customs check the packet.
Hence in my region the risk of being charged is just 1 in 48000
Might be worth asking you friendly local postman what their figures are!
I therefore don't worry about companies offering to refund just (as impotentspider says) how do you claim on a warranty? And (if electrical goods) what type of plug it comes with. Had one come the other day with a Japanese plug and UK/Japan adaptor.

You are fortunate. I have never NOT had to pay duty.In reality it seems duty is rarely applied to items from the far east.

I have never (yet) paid duty from HK, but have had to from the USA. I have an empirical theory that it all depends on the courier. So, UPS & DHL never but Parcel Force every time - they charge a fee for collecting the duty/vat etc. so it pays them to do so.

FedEx have got me every time when I buy shoes from the states! Last time got some items delivered to my work address, they chased payment for a while then gave up. I have no remorse dodging the odd tax, it's not like we don't pay enough.
