Young Common Toad About 25mm long, taken with K10D and Sigma 70mm EX DG lens. It was lucky I did not flatten it on my drive to the caravan.

Very nice shot - focussing through blades of grass can sometimes be a nightmare but you've nailed this one!

Nice shot, It looks like one of those nasty Cane toads, we have a problem with down here. Is this one poisonous:

They were introduced into Aust from Sth America to control the sugar cane beetle here. It prooved a disaster as the numb skull govt didn't take into account that the beetle lives high up in the cane and the toad can't climb go figure

The toads are good for practising your golf swing on though

Only to predators, they're harmless to us although I'd wash my hands aftr handling them.

We have several toads and frogs around the garden, they spend a lot of time hiding from the cats though. They do keep the slugs down though!
Cheers, HG

Just imagine, shouting Foooooore, a few seconds before it hits somebody's face by accident. Pure Oscar material.
Best regards,

Martin.

Our cane toads kill the cats and dogs, not to mention native animals when they try and eat them. bloody pests they are
