Battery charger

I lost my charger on holiday (doh!) and need to replace it. Had been looking at the Hahnel Ultima but am struggling to find anyone who will send it to Ethiopia.

On the other hand there are numerous cheap options (with spare batteries) on ebay from Hong Kong which will send here. Was thinking I might get one of these for now as a stopgap and get a branded charger next time I'm in the UK.

Does anyone know if using the batteries from HK would pose any risk to the camera? Also would the cheaper charger harm the Pentax battery if I used it once or twice to charge the original D-LI50?

Any feedback much appeciated.

My brother in law lives in Addis.

He is returning to the UK at the beginning of September.

If you find something available in the UK, it could be delivered to me and I could then give it to my brother in law, who would take it back to you in Addis later in September.

Many thanks for the kind offer. I have one battery fully charged, and another on about half - which if I'm very careful might last till early September, so I may take you up on the offer. Assuming your brother-in-law is happy to act as a courier, that is!

Am currently investigating my options - I may well get the ebay one as this is the quickest solution (and I can then check out the Hahnel charger before buying it when I'm next in the UK). It's also possible that a friend of mine will be coming out in mid-Sept., in which case I wouldn't need to put you or your brother-in-law to any any trouble.
