Batch editing RAW file properties

Hi folks. Anyone know of a way to batch edit file properties?

Here's the problem. My 2nd K-5 body inadvertently had the date set wrong. 3 days behind. So all pics I took with it today show 2nd April rather than the 5th. So they are now out of sync with the pics I took with my 1st K-5.

What I need to do is to change the DAY on the files from 2 to 5, but leave the time intact ( which was correct ).

Anyone know of a way or a utility that can do this.

Much cheers in advance.

Got quite excited by Smeggy's discovery until I discovered that the utility is Windows only. However, I've found a Mac file changer - not free, but cheap at $10. It looks pretty versatile and promising: http://manytricks.com/namemangler/

All the best,

Chris

Aperture can do this as well if you use it on a Mac. I've had to use it many times when my camera date has been wrong

I also use NameMangler extensively in my work. I don't know if it will change things like dates though! It is on the other hand absolutely brilliant for mass-renaming files.

Nice one Smeggy. A few weeks ago I took some shots while away on holiday but had not changed the time zone on the camera so ended up with the wrong dates. This will solve the issue.
Thanks.

I have found ExifTool quite useful, for renaming files(extracting shutter count for inclusion in file name)and changing properties (I think it can extract the Date Taken and use it to modify the image file properties).

It works at the Command Line Interface (i.e. at the DOS/Command prompt).

Peter
