Got out with the camera yesterday, thought I'd show you that Essex isn't all flat, and that there are nice places to go in Basildon, of all places.

K10D, 16-45mm, polariser.

Known locally as Pitsea Cove, pity they're not a bit more sensitive as to where they put their signs.

Nice shot Dan and you are right the sign ruins it somewhat
It would look great with a waterfall coming off the cliff and i suspect at some time in the past it did have one :

And i like the ducks also, did you get a closeup of them

No, the ducks were 'hooded' ducks, and you don't want to go near the hoodies round here.

I personally enjoyed the somewhat comical and ironic effect of the sign

I like how the sign is something you would probably see welcoming you to a town but then you just see this beautiful cliff face ahead.

The sign looks 'photoshopped' in to me.

and the ducks look like mallards, not that I'm an expert in photography or wildlife.

All of those and more - you never turn your back on a hooded duck.

And you think you have nasty wildlife over there!

Maybe you are having a larf?

Something about the sign doesn't fit with me, the size, perspective, shadows, placement... seems wrong.

And I'm sure you could have got a good shot without the sign in it.
