Autumn at Llanystumdwy

A selection taken a few weeks ago along the banks of the River Dwyfor at Llanystumdwy (where LloydGeorge is buried, for info).

All K3, 1-4 DA 55-300, rest 16-85.

Unusual set, the processing is different somehow, almost HDR like. Number 3 looks more like a snowy winter morning scene than Autumn.

Quite like them though.

Yeah I thought the same with the processing. Last one for me has the best composition

Minimal processing, all single images @ f16 (or abouts).

Oh my God! What a great set! I loved all the pictures. Wonderful job. Keep it up!

Likewise, I thought some type of hdr, no exif data, but looking at the bright sunshine, and slow shutter speed , you were probably using a filter or lens was stopped right down, might be diffraction causing it ?
Looking at your Flickr stream, I've not seen any others look like this.
I'm not knocking your set, btw, good shooting

The shutter speeds varied between 1/8" to 20s, and all were taken using a CPL.

The only difference to previous sets is the camera, first images I have posted with the K3.

K3 is a very good camera,
I wonder If it's the shooting parameters that need changing, working your way through the menu, might be worth checking, as this look is not at all what we are used to seeing from your shots.
You shooting raw or jpeg, if jpeg, what quality is selected ?

Again, I'm not knocking your shots, just feel they are a little off, compared to your usual style.

Amazing collections. All the images are beautifully captured. I loved nature's photography.

All RAW, Derek, processed in Lightroom.

Previously I would take all shots handheld, so for example the ISO in this particular set would be high; again I don't know if this would make a difference?

Unfortunately I cannot post a RAW file here so that you could see what one looked like.

What was the WB setting?

Camera set to AWB, all images also set likewise in Lightroom.

Hi Adrian, I suppose I should ask, do you think there is something just a tad "off" with the images.
If you don't, then there's no need to continue this.

If you do, I'd try a total reset on the camera, and restore it to factory settings.
Might well be worth a shot.

I wonder if it is the Custom Image setting, it is easy to inadvertently change this whilst fumbling around. On mine it is set to Natural so the images in RAW are flat and any changes are made in Lightroom. As others have said, these are really nice.

If that is the case you can read the settings on the camera and correct them precisely in post. I had to do this after a dark shoot which all had Bleach Bypass applied!
