December Streets of Durham

From my photo walk around Durham yesterday with my Pentax K3 and 70-200 f2.8 zoom. The Durham Christmas deer appear on a road island in the city this time every year. The stainless steel and frosted glass heron is the city's latest piece of public art.

Grazing is wonderfully composed and balanced, with beautiful light - very nicely processed, too!

Very nice David... particularly like the last shot vs the background shadow...

Texting Alice for me, well spotted and excellent timing.

As above, Texting Alice stands out for me. I like the set David. Is taking off the full frame? It may be a stronger image with a little wider FOV. Great sharpness throughout and good mono conversion.

Best regards

Again - Texting Alice is the standout one for me, although the overall look of Grazing is rather appealing

Thanks for all the kind comments. The stainless steel and frosted glass heron on the river banks at Durham is the latest piece of public sculpture to appear in the city. Gary, you are probably correct, Texting Alice is a crop and might look better a little wider.

I like 'Texting Alice' in this set David, would like to see the wider version too?

Texting Alice is my favourite too although I agree it might do better if it were wider, putting the figure slightly further back to the right which would give him a bit more visual space to walk into?
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

...and a good title! It's the one for me also, with the composition just as it is,

( I like'Grazing' without the foreground road, and 'Urban deer' without the strip of background on the left hand side.)

Cheers.

David, David and Mr B. Many thanks for the positive comments. They are much appreciated especially points raised over Texting Alice and crops of the grazing deer on the traffic island.

I just loved the 2nd and 4th photos. I like the light and shadow in the last photo. I love the set, David. Christmas is coming!
