There's some good, common-sense stuff in there, thanks for posting the link.

However, "3D pop" does indeed exist and the "medium format look" (by which I assume he means very shallow DoF) can be yielded by some 35mm gear, in the right hands.

Number 5 "My Family Will Be So Happy Iím Bringing All This Gear on Our Vacation!" - has anyone ever said that? My wife gets p***ed off by the amount of gear I usually take (sometimes I do too).

I think that was the point! This article is written from the photographer's perspective!

I love this little artcile.

It is playful and should make most of us wince!

My particular bugbear is the obsession with sharpness. Why?

If our photos are not up to the mark sharpness is irrelevant!

On the other hand, a lack of sharpness doesn't matter if the photo does it!

spends enough to buy a car or small house on cameras and gear... then says "it's not the camera, it's the person"...
