A good friend's beautiful Blue Ribble bike was nicked from outside the Community Centre this afternoon .

The lowlife may well have been local as there was a football match going on at the time he was there.

He had been doing an 'Audax' Bike ride which had finished there. there were 4 bikes parked at the Centre and when the riders came out , 3 of them had bikes and Andrij did not

It has a registration /ID of J70608889 and has been reported to the police as missing .

If anyone lives in the area please would you keep an eye open for the bike ?

He was supposed to be using it for a ride next weekend and most weekends thereafter until he does the Paris-Brest- Paris bike ride this summer - that now looks exceedingly doubtful and he has paid his entrance fee for that already

Woooooooopeeeeeeeeee

someone has found a bit of the bike and it made its way back to the Community Centre , from where the Organiser collected it today and took it up to Chiswick [ where said organiser lives ] and Andrij collected his rack bag this evening

Tools are largely missing but he has most of the rest of the bag's contents including his spare glasses

Thanks to Gwyn we know there are eyes hard at work in the area watching for this bike .

Maybe it was one of her contacts who found the bag - as yet Andrij doesn't know much about where it was actually found other than it was on a garden wall .

When the local secondary school in Chalfont St. Peter used to be called 'Old Jobes' I had my bike nicked from the bike sheds.

It turned up the next day when a lady called the school to say that her sons had 'found' a bike outside the school and bought it home.

I wonder if those lads ever grew out of the habit of 'finding' bikes?

Anyway, glad Andrij has his bike back!

Nope - as yet no bike - just the rack bag and we don't actually know exactly where that was located. Andrij is trying to find out so he can thank the finder .

We are still hoping that there could be a success story - it does happen , though not often enough
