After goodness knows how long I've cleared my PP backlog so thought I might stop lurking and post a few pics:

All taken handheld with my Sigma 150-500 and K10d

Rainbow Bee Eater - I put a lot of preparation and planning into photographing this species so was happy to get a half way decent shot

Not so much preparation needed for this guy who lives on a pond 50 metres from my front door

My take on a Superb Fairy Wren - about the size of a blue tit, very jumpy and fast moving

Nice to see another OZ pentax user on board, welcome.
Shame you could not have got closer to the Bee-eater but good all the same, the black swan is a lovely shot, and just feel a bit of fill flash would have helped with the Fairy wren, what a spectacular little bird they are, shame we dont get them this far north. looking forward to more of your shots.
