How are you doing Stan? Hope the extraction didn`t cause too much grief. You are right about the speed at which Whiskey courses through the veins. That`s a reason why the levels need constant topping up. Or they drop below the levels of effectiveness.
Enjoy life

Hi Stan
I hope the tooth extraction 'afters' have gone now
My course of low level antiobiotics didn't shift the infection so I am now on much stronger 'not allowed any alcohol' types and then once they have done their job I need a root canal redrilling and filling but if that 40% chance of success does not work out it is an extraction to be done - joy
At least yours is sorted
Cheers

I remember having a tooth "Partly" pulled in my teens, I had a slight abscess which was preventing the anesthetic from doing its job, the dentist said he would have to leave it and give me some antibiotics for the abscess, problem was the tooth was half out and I wouldn't be able to eat properly, I just gripped the edges of the chair and told him to get on with it
God knows how they coped with tooth extraction before cocaine

Hi Stuey and Cedric, the extraction went so painlessly because the tooth was already loose which was the cause of the problem. I have to go back for a filling which I'm not looking forward too
Hope you are managing to keep you spirit levels up Cedric and hope your forthcoming dental work is a success Stuey

I once had a tooth break at 23.45 on Hogmanay, I managed to remove all of it except the root with the pliers on my Swiss Army knife and a large glass of whisky.

I am prone to doing some daft things that can involve pain, some maybe considered stupidly brave, some just stupid and some down right unexplainable but I have to admit Ken you seem to take lunacy to the next level I once had a tooth break at 23.45 on Hogmanay, I managed to remove all of it except the root with the pliers on my Swiss Army knife and a large glass of whisky.
Respect, I doubt that I would ever do that maybe after half a bottle of whisky I may start but I doubt that I would finish the job

It's not a proper Hogmanay unless you loose at least one tooth!

He still had most of his teeth, well the onesthat showed anyway..

It really wasn't as awful as it sounds. The subsequent visit to the dentist was. You know you are in for it when your hear the dentist tell the receptionist to cancel her next two appointments.

I broke a tooth when on holiday in America. An olive pit left in pitted olives was the culprit.
I didn't fancy finding a US dentist, and it didn't hurt, so I left it until we got home a few weeks later. My dentist cleaned it up, filled it with white filling stuff, said that will do until your insurance can pay for a crown and that was that. Now several years later I still have just the "temporary" filling.
All my fillings are now white. The last amalgam one was replaced last year. Looks like I have perfect teeth now, instead of NHS-dentist-fill-em-because-I-get-paid-for-that-teeth.

The remainder of my teeth look like a row of condemed houses. In the late 90's I almost failed a medical as one my teeth was deemed unfit to take a watch at sea. The tooth in question had been in that condition since the mid 60's. I almost asked the doctor, "In that case if I lose my "I" teeth will I be registered as blind" ?

A couple of years back I spent the cost of a couple of K5s getting all my teeth sorted, including white fillings.
Even other dentists get surprised when they see them and then check my chart!
Worth every penny.
