What red links are you referring to? That statement is unfortunately too vague to be useful, so do please let me have a specific example.
Ah the advert bot thingy!

I had something similar a while back and searched Goggle for a cure.

Can't for the life in me remember what it was though!

I'll just go and have a beer while I try to remember...

It got rid of the nasties on my machine Bernard, and it's free so...

That works well as well, and it's also free.

Just worked this out. You have a toolbar/add-in installed on your browser which adds links to words to point to advertising. It all depends upon which version of which browser you are running.

What you should try first is go to Control Panel then Programs and Features or Add/Remove programs (on XP) and get rid of anything that says 'toolbar' or 'add in'.

I've never seen one that was worth anything. They are usually installed if you download freeware and choose the 'default' rather than the 'custom' option.

There are two red underlined words ..... try & lenses
These come up with various ways to win an iPad.

I'm using Firefox and there are no 'add ons' and a few extensions, one of which is Adblock Plus 2.2.3

Control Panel/Add remove programs doesn't list anything like Gareths suggestion

The scammers new disk must be out, I have had five phishing emails in the last four days. The originators have used the same format in the sender box ie Manager...... and tracking information in the subject line of four of them. You would think they would be a little more creative
Oh, also one from paypal
No doubt they will catch someone out.

Unfortunately, not on my screen, so I can't offer any solution to what you are seeing. Have you virus-checked your machine recently?

Just received this positive feedback on eBay: 'Randomly apply my stored comments to each buyer.'

In that case, as John said, you have a virus or some other Trojan or nasty on your system. Try Private Browsing mode and see if they still appear.

There are so many ways this can be done, such as by passing through a proxy. What browser and OS are you using?

The edited post now makes sense Gareth.

I still feel that Bernard could do worse than run IObit Malware on his system.

Then if that doesn't work...
