I hate that tunnel. If you don't live there you have no idea how much the toll is.
And where is the sign to tell you? On the toll booth so you cannot see it until it is time to pay!
And then there is no change available.
It the biggest scam going - it's not 'daylight robbery' - it's damn thievery.

Do you know that when the trams come to Edinburgh (I think it's the day after hell freezes over) there are new laws that include you must stand in a queue at the place where it tells you to queue and you must not wear an offensive T shirt.

Slogan which could/will offend (deliberately or otherwise)
Having a body which should not be enclosed in a T shirt, but tucked away out of site.
Who will 'police' the new law - another army of jobsworths or our beleagured bobbies.
Lets face it canabis/spitting/swearing/..../...../ is already illegal but still happens with impunity.

Is it too early for a drink ?
I've just taxed Freda the Freelander online .
Stupidly I then added up her fixed costs for a year [ tax , MOT , insurance and servicing ] - a truly nasty sum of money before I put any diesel into her or get her new boots or little things like that .
All this to keep me mobile and comfortable

Never to early for a drink in such situations.
Our new car is actually cheaper to tun than my old Kangoo was. Car tax is less, insurance is less, petrol costs are less, no MOT for 4 years, and servicing only once a year, at a fixed price. I even got a deal on the winter tyres for it.

I've just serviced, MOTd and taxed the Mercedes 4x4, fortunately nothing else needed doing, still reeling from the shock!
