Just noticed I have over 2000 posts. Perhaps I should have been more like this:

A wise old owl sat in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard
Why can't I be like that wise old bird

I know it's cold down your way but whisky for breakfast isn't the only way to keep warm.

It was -7 at 9 am today. A cozy -2 now.
No whisky for breakfast here though.

I just took advantage of about an hour of gorgeous sunshine to shoot some images. Just finished the first batch in time, after which the weather turned back to dull grey...it's a healthy 4.5C here though.
Best regards, John

We had glorious sunshine all day. Until Britain sent us their snow at 5pm
-3 now and still snowing. More to come tomorrow too.

Did I ever say that I HATE SNOW ?

His nibs has gone to rescue our son from work. His ancient old Peugeot (the alternative to the ancient old LR, which needs a new head) has packed up. It has no heater in it so it is a nightmare in this weather anyway, but now it has died. Looks like I might be losing my car for a few days.

Don't these continentals whinge?

They complain when we send them the soot from our power stations
They complain when they get acid rain.

At least snow is pure white and melts into pure water

Snow is nice to look at, when tucked up nice an warm and cozy inside, but it is a pain to have to go out into it. Even you have to admit that Bernard.
Though I suppose now you are 65 you can stay in the warm .

Totally agree, and I must admit I don't know how people to the east of the UK survive the winter.
It can't be all down to double glazing, jajem or vodka

Beer down in strength, up in price. link Notice the reduction in duty is passed to the trade not the customer.
