The first time was before the new 'instant transfer' system the banks are using now, this time...

I'mm going to call the company and talk nicely, if I get no joy them it's scissors time.

We had similar problems with a store card, had it for a couple of years and it was paid off in full every month, then statements started arriving too late to meet the due date, I had to ring them up every other month to sort it out until eventually I got a very uncooperative chap who's English was barley understandable, he was adamant the charges would stand and refused to put me onto a supervisor, I cut the card into four pieces and returned it asking them to close the account and remove my name and address from their system as I would no longer be interested either the card or further offers from them or their chain of stores
Guess what, I got a phone call within 2 days from a very apologetic lady asking me what they could do to put it right, I told them to close the account as I'd requested

I now have another card from a different chain store and they are trying a different tactic of keeping the credit limit low and trying to charge me when I exceed it.

I get the feeling that if you pay cards off in full every month and the card company's are not making money out of you then they will try tactics like this, I can see another one getting the scissors trwatment

I believe you have to make one yourself and it will fall to bits after a couple of weeks!

Got sunburned on the M8 yesterday. As I was travelling east to west and the sun was in the south it's just on one side of my face!

Added to my fun incident on Saturday of busting a tyre landing at Dundee airport it's been one of those weekends!

On a different tack :-

My PC has had a Security upgrade from Microsoft, (KB2686509).

It goes through the installation process then advises me that it wasn't installed. Two minutes later I get the yellow shield back again and the sequence starts all over again.

This has been on my PC for over a week now and won't install/ won't go away/ delays shutdown whilst it has a final try/ back again the following day.

Any ideas (short of emulating greynolds999's avitar)

Yes IKEA do a store card in the UK.

Hope the sun burn eases Gareth, did you get the AA out for the flat tyre?

If you get a thunderstorm Tony, collect and save the water for the next drought.

It doesn't advise that. It simply advises that KB2686509 has not been installed. No reason given.

I've been on to the link you provided but the only 'useful' information I can find is
"You receive this message if any registered keyboard layout files are not in the %Windir%System32 folder. In this scenario, the computer is incompatible with the security updates"

So I have a PC which is incompatable with an update and still no idea how to fix it (I didn't realise it was broke). How do I find out what files are needed and where do I find the appropriate files to install into the above

No, but they did send the fire engines out. And by law they had to wear their full protective gear in 25° heat!
