I have inadvertently brought meaning to this thread. I can only apologise and hang my head in shame.

However I will repeat what I said a year ago, at 20p a week I am happy to support this forum without any benefits.

I went to the theatre tonight to see a show called 'Godhead' by an excellent theatre maker called Chris Goode... It was an AMAZING piece of work and highly recommended if you get a chance to see it...

Also discovered that I really like gin...

Welcome to the club Dave, regarding Gin, is that with tonic, orange, bitterlemon or just straight?

Bit early to have one but if things get much worse at work...

Thanks for the black stars Tony, preferable to black marks Great recipe for roast moth too although haven't been able to put it to the test yet. As a young lad we used to "test" their electrical resistance with a 1000 volt megger but they always caught fire before we reached any conclusions. We also tested another apprentice "ear to ear" and the reading was 1/50000 ohms lucky we didn't kill him

Tonic is an acquired taste.

I believe I acquired a taste for it last night...

Large gin and tonics were possibly a bad idea...

Been a while since I workup in my clothes...

I know someone who is a very large lady and had hospital tests to find out why. It transpired that her adrenal gland was wrecked and the doctor asked her if she had ever had malaria since she was showing the classic signs of quinine poisoning. She said it was probably the tonic water but the doctor said that no one could drink that much tonic, she told him she consumed between two and three litres a day for twenty years. You can guess how much gin went with it. Her liver is fine by the way.

It's possible to drink tonic without gin Ken. When we go out for an evening as automatic designated driver I drink tonic, and imagine the gin.

I'm amazed she has any teeth left after drinking those quantities though.

There is actually very little quinine in tonic water, bitter lemon and Irn Bru. The amount is limited by law.

Did you know that tonic water fluoresces under ultra violet light? That's the quinine doing that.

I'd noticed that, but did not know what it was

I thought it was "Ready Brek" that made you glow in the dark, or perhaps living to near to Sellafield

I take tonic for medicinal purposes, I pretend it stops cramp
