Somebody mention G&T?
Sounds good to me after today..
We spent an hour looking at new cars..
.. the boss ordered one..
.... the garage told her that the one offered wasn't available(!??) and offered a lower spec one at the same price....
.......I won't tell you what she said after cancelling and puting the phone down......

It reminds me of the time when I was in Andorra. I'd heard the shops were cheap, but with the pound/euro conversion rate they were more expensive than at home.
I went into one and asked the price of a Canon Powershot G9. When she quoted a high price she obviously realised I didn't want to pay that and remarked "we do have cheaper cameras!" (I was going to respond "well, duh" but thought that might be rude.)

I hate looking for new cars. I left it up to him for his new lease car this time. he has to drive it all the time after all.
In 2 years though we have to buy a car when he retires. I'll flog off my old Kangoo (hooray!) and we'll just have one car. I am dreading having to decide on what it will be though. Probably not French or German, possibly Czech (I know they're German too), but most likely Japanese or Korean, simply because they last forever and have a higher spec than the Europeans offer.
Renault still don't even provide a radio as standard here .

Which, by a strange coincidence, is the speed (in mph) to which lorries in the UK are limited!

I had a bizarre experience today. I was in one of the cheap supermarkets which I normally avoid but they have one item I cannot find elsewhere. While negotiating a route through the chavs it went through my mind that something seemed wrong. After a moment's consideration it struck me. The music playing over the tannoy was Handel's Messiah, specifically the Alleluia Chorus. I waited for someone to start ranting "King of Kings - ain't no fing" but it didn't happen.
It was really surreal.

Saab 9-3? The TiD engines are decidedly sleeperish giving 50mpg or so and anywhere between 150 and 180bhp depending on model. Despite that it's a complete pussycat to drive with no handling quirks, you just get endless torque and a nice hefty shove when the turbo spins up.

....also found out yesterday that Citroen, it's a C4 Picasso we're looking at, had interest free finance available!
Some thing another dealer told me but the one she went too denied.
We won't be going back to the rip off place ever again, can I name them John?:

Matt, I know Saab is now Dutch, but I wouldn't buy one. I seriously doubt it will still be around as a manufacturer in two years time, unless the money bags Russian who has bought the Spyker part of Spyker coughs up even more for Saab.
No we'll go for something small and economical I'm afraid. The pension isn't good and money will be very tight.

They play Classical Music outside supermarkets to stop yobs hanging around

Dad's 9-3 is from the GM years so I don't see parts becoming hard to find. I do love the fact that Saab were handed the Vectra floorpan...then proceeded to completely redesign it so that only they could make and use the part!
Citroen's advertising is getting silly. Explain how they can use the slogan "anti-retro" with a car called the DS3? The name is obviously supposed to make you think of the DS, in other words it's retro...

I find this reference to Chavs rather offensive Oggy you do realise that if people like you paid much higher taxes than these poor dregs of society would be able to afford a better lifestyle, no more hollow gold around their necks, no more playing x-box on a measly 40inch screen, they would be able to rise above drinking Skol all day and perhaps savour the delights of Hoegaarden whilst listening to Handel on their pirated CD's.I had a bizarre experience today.
