Having no kids(they're adults really!!)at home we'll have to re-adjust the freezer.

Most meat is frozen in 3 or 4 person portions, which meant we had a large beef stew for our meal this evening, still, mustn't grumble!

well, excellent fire and sausages with my own + loan child today. Impressive quantities of snow, too; I was over my knees several times and had steaming socks when I emptied the snow out

Couple of pics on the other laptop, will go and process some more now.

I'm currently trying to find a free web hosting service, boy is it complicated!

I keep getting told to check my e-mails to complete registration, but they're not sending them to me.

When, or if, I manage to find one that works I'll let you know.
Cheers, HG

We've just had a minor panic, well a major one actually, to clear out my husband's glory hole of an office/music room. The heating engineers phoned this afternoon to say they are coming tomorrow morning (at 7.30 :shock to replace the old radiator, which no longer works, plus three in our living room which date from the year dot.

Major task clearing his room, we had to empty and move three bookcases, to give access to the underfloor space, plus move all the guitars and amps and other stuff.

Guess I'll be sitting in the cold tomorrow.
I hope they can get it all done in one day, but I know this house - nothing is ever simple, largely due to the botch job the previous owner did on it.
25 years on and we are still correcting his botches.

Gwyn - you have my sympathy.

Weird wiring etc makes for a very interesting time when you are forced into changing things because they no longer work.

I'm waiting for someone to come and help me with 2 non-working lights that are supposed to let me see who is at the door before I open it .

Is that because "we" are coming up.

NAH

Actually it was a tad embarrassing when I didn't answer the front door at 10pm the other night.

I got a return visit from 2 members of Strathclyde's Finest the following evening - house-to-house calls looking for information about some mindless vandalism.

Me , living on my own , with no external light at the front door answering the door at that time of night - not on your nellie

I don't answer the door at 10 o'clock at night, even with an external light and a husband at home.

?! Ah, the joys of living in civilization....

For some bizarre reason which I really don't understand, this morning it was -11 or so. Bitingly cold wind, completely acceptable for January.

This evening, it's 0. This is soo not good - I have the Germans here in three weeks and right now we would not be allowed on track; the session for this weekend is in danger of falling through, too.
Looks like I might have to take them up north after all.

Doesn't your ISP provide "free" web hosting?

I have never found free web hosting to be good value. But if you decide to pay I have found www.1and1.co.uk to be consistently excellent. Starts at about £60/year.

We have a free homepage from our ISP, plus we have another website from a different host, which costs us €60pa for the hosting service an €10pa for the web name. Excellent value and big enough to host a forum and house our photos.
Oh and free space on the company's web attached to his e-mail address.

Forgot to add the house is in chaos. Heating men arrived at 7.15, and started work. Took time off for breakfast at 8.30 and have been going at it ever since. They even turned down coffee .

Luckily it isn't too cold today, but if they don't get done today I can always light a fire.
