I posted that then wondered if it was your enforced abstinence that was making you grumpy. Is there not one of those old fashioned sweet shops in Whitby, I'll buy you some humbugs

exercised the ESP on the car this morning... that was an interesting "OSH...." moment. I despise cobbles as road surfacing, especially cat's heads in Granite. Minimal grip in the rain and even better when it's frosted and then there's drizzle on the top!

It's funny you should say that FS. It is one of the psychological scars I bear from my youth. My father's family was not well off and when he asked for a train set for Christmas he didn't get one.Grand Prix? Rubbish
Scalextric? Much Better
Fast forward 30 years and a small Oggy was asked what he wanted for Christmas. SCALEXTRIC!!
Guess what I got.
The train set kept me occupied for several minutes.
Fast forward 30 years. I was out on site just outside Swindon. We found a shopping centre with a shop selling Scalextric sets at half price, so I bought 2. I brought them home and set them up using all the track from both all round the living room and into the dining room. Mrs Oggy gave me one of those looks and sat back to watch as the car whizzed around then asked for a go. To my surprise she was very good indeed and it was all I could do to beat her. Come Sunday evening and I was about to pack the track up as I was out on site again on Monday. Says she - Oh don't bother, it'll be all right.

Don`t take any notice Gareth - I bought Scalextric for Emma back in 1974 when she was 4 and she occasionally got a look in between hotel guests and the local bobbies - she`s 40 now and a bobby ( well sort of ) and still loves the thing -I think we will be buying again for little Chloe !!
