I've just seen a couple of reindeer (real, not inflatable or flashing). No man in red coat and white beard, though. Is that pointless?

Indeed. I claim 1st December syndrome. Now a day on, I have found drive and clarity of vision.

Hi Gwyn I take your point I just couldn't be bothered to start a new post, but I am suitably chastised! Anyhow I have just posted a snap in the Gallery but promise from now on to stick strictly off topic

Erm... doesn't off topic in a pointless thread mean it has a photographic point? promise from now on to stick strictly off topic

Friday's weather forecast looks to be quite warm for this time of year - 13 degrees Celsius!

Probably because the Daily Mail said you were in for at least forty days of heavy frost and cold weather.
Aka winter.

Headline: Winter storms set to RAVAGE cities as global warming is NOWHERE to be seen
Reality: A bit of sleet in the deepest part of winter
Gotta love the tabloid press

Lovely day here today, problem is I spent most of it INSIDE!!!
My son's other half needed my help and car to get stuff for their new house. She couldn't carry a mattress on the bus
Still, it was a day we'll spent and it did line me up for a large G'n'T...

It was a lovely day here too, apart from the bombing which is getting on my nerves.
In for a wet and windy weekend though.

Spelt Texel, pronounced Tessel. But no the next island along Vlieland is where they drop the bombs, but Texel, Vlieland and Terschelling along with the Frisian coast all suffer from it. The first year we lived here they messed up and dropped two at once and the whole house lifted and shook. It caused some movement but we can't prove it so have to put up with it. Mostly it is just a regular thud and vibration.
Only today and tomorrow to go, until the next time.

I can imagine that seismic sensors on the sea bed pick up what's going on and analyse the waveforms to profile what munitions are actually used. Invaluable data to those interested. It's a pointless thread but it's suddenly taken a very interesting turn - I'm intrigued!
