Another pointless thread

I see. Any pictures of the Kelpies yet

I got a couple of the small ones at the wheel. They weren't well advertised, apparently we were only 10 miles away from them. The couple in the next caravan to us were from Falkirk and told us about them when we got back from the wheel

Had enough of Auld Reekie then Gareth?

Nothing to report here apart from transferring half my bank balance to my dentist, in return for being told to come back in six months, presumably for the rest of my bank balance.

Need to decide on lenses to lug to California soon. Do I travel ultra-light and take a single lens, go with a couple, or lug a lot. I was going to buy a Samyang to try some night shots, but never got around to it .

Sorry, that last paragraph almost had a point.

You could always use them to build a scale model of Tantallon Castle (didn't get there on recent visit to Seton Sands and low tide and crap light at Aberlady )

Just the scale models, human is 5' 10" tall to give a sense of scale

Gwyn - why not buy your lenses in the USA ? OK remember you will have state tax - but may not be too bad even with that

I did think of that TT but camera shops with Pentax stuff are thin on the ground, and we will be spending a lot of time out in the boondocks.

We will be going into Oregon as well, which has no sales tax, so I may have a look there if I get the chance, but tbh I don't know that it is worth spending the money on another lens I will use only a couple of times a year - I have a shelf full of those already!

His Nibs says I can buy it, after all it is less than the tenth of the price of his latest guitar, but still I hesitate.

If you part-ex the guitar for an SDM lens could you claim for it as part of a noise abatement programe!!!!

Falkirk was for a few reasons. Edinburgh made working in Glasgow a pain. This is far more central.

Kim can walk to work now which means she's less moany.

And the cat seems to like it!

Trying to listen to Last Night of the Proms - after all these years and zillions spent on tech the Beeb stuff up the sound.

I'm listening to it, long distance - His Nibs is watching it on TV, I am in my room, but can hear it perfectly. I was watching it earlier and can't say the sound was in anyway bad. Maybe it is on the radio?

The trouble is they use amplifiers big enough to fill the Albert Hall

Beeb apologised for breakdown in sound quality - breaks in sound only for a split second but enough to disrupt the ear though.

Building up for expedition to RSPB Minsmere this morning for coffee and cake. Probably take a Box Brownie along too just for fun. Nothing too serious

sounds fun Cedric. I'd love to see the faces of others there when you produce a Box Brownie .

We are supposed to be going out for a family meal this evening with all the sons and hangers on. The one weekend when everyone is available, with no work or on call commitments.
Son #1 has just called to cancel . Just wondering who will be next.

At least there should be plenty of elbow room at the table.
