Winter must be coming..

...there's a ton of coal being delivered as I type and the wood sheds are full!

It's too early for a beer and I start at a new office to learn a new area today.

I want to retire!!!

What a depressing thought on a lovely August morning.

Never too early for a beer. Good luck with all that new stuff.

Keep doing the lottery .

His Nibs retired, then went back to work for a rest.

I like the start of the summer holidays, all those mothers buying back to school clothes and hoping they fit in September.

Invariably they don't!

There's that first day when you go out and the air feels different, a certain dampness and coolness that says Autumn has arrived. Not unpleasant, but not yet please because we have to have our holidays first.....
Best regards, John

What have you all done???? The weather turned today - to wet and cool - and looks to stay that way for the next two weeks.

First?

We went to Brittany in May and are heading to Provence in September...

....not to mention a couple of weekends away...

Just given Joe, that's Honesty's other half, a Ricard.

He likes but his head is out of synch with his body...

.....result!

We don't go away until October, but then we have 5 weeks in California .

Had a couple of weekends in the UK for family stuff, but they don't count. Just back from York in fact.

Had a weekend away a few weeks ago, well that was the theory anyway. Turned into two expensive nights in a hotel, with only one day to do anything as we had to head back early on the Sunday so His Nibs could play with one of his bands. Was supposed to be a paying gig, but I never saw any evidence of money . If it hadn't been a non refundable booking I would have cancelled the trip. It rained that weekend too.

And that brings Beerday evening.

Tonight it's a box bought for me by my old team, I didn't realise how much they thought of me, I'll miss them and am now drinking to their health.

They're the best team in Bradford's warden service, I know, I taught them, even the team leader.

And I was just a warden myself...

...Cheers East team!
