Watched it twice, once for me then once again for Mrs Snap. Think it is hilarious it's exactly what our cat did except for the baseball bat. Found this a few day's ago. Watched it about 20 times and still find it funny. But you have to be a cat person.

That beats or cat standing on my cheest and drooling on my sleeping head.
Cats, love or hate them you have to admit they're entertaining...

Just been Skyping with Photomonk - he's off to Europe next week and had to re-think his gear.
He had been intending to take 3 bodies with him - not now since he'll have to fire up each one to prove it's a working camera. He's taking one body
He's cut his lenses down - he's had problems before with them .
He's not taking his Laptop , and Kindle either - just the iPad mini [ has various PP things on it - Lightroom and a couple of other things too + a Kindle app on that] and his iPhone.
As he says - it would take forever and a day to fire up everything at the airport to prove it works. And he reckons Security is going to be nasty tight.
He's flying KFK to Reykjavík to Paris then after a few days there will be heading to Belgium and then back into France by way of the north of France and home about the middle of August.
BTW for anyone who can get to NYC in time I hear Samsung are doing another Camera give away/swap

Sensible man. I hope he has a good trip. Are you thinking of a quick trip over to France or Belgium while he is over?
I only have one camera body, and am trying to cut down on the lenses I take in October, ( I really only want to take two, but which two??) so I can sympathise with the Monk. Last few times through security I have had to take every lens out for it to be examined and x-rayed separately. Add switching on the camera, the phone, the e-reader, the flash?, proving my Li-Ion batteries are safely packed etc etc, plus doing all the same for His Nibs, plus his laptop, and I am not looking forward to going through security twice, once at Schiphol, and again at Heathrow. Hopefully that the agony of cattle class for 10 and a half hours will soon be forgotten when we get to San Francisco.

Every time I read about there being more security at airports I'm so pleased my days of long haul travel are over
When I was still sea-going I had to do an anti-terrorism course in case the vessel got hijacked. On being asked what I would do in the event of being confronted by a terrorist my answer was simple: Raise hands above head, smile, and say, "Hello how can I help you". I was passed as qualified

Gwyn - having just had a 2week trip visiting him [ well June ] I'll ignore your suggestion of France and Belgium - mebbe next summer .
The poor man has had a dreadful time since I came back - he really needs to unwind and relax and I don't think he's enough time for that

Did any of you watch the opening ceremony? I admit I avoided it.
Childhood memories of the White Heather Club put me off watching it.

Kitsch, camp panto. Gwyn, the White Heather Club was in it! Everyone I know who actually was there really enjoyed it and everyone who saw it on TV thought it pretty dire.

I love the concept though.
Glasgow gets the games because they want to portray it as a dynamic, modern city.
And the opening ceremony covered just about every Scottish stereotype that Walter Scott invented!
Ach well. At least it wasn't raining.
Mind you, Police central around the parliament and palace in Edinburgh. Think they're a wee bit feartie!
