Try John lewis to get an idea of ready made. They have two year warranty free as standard. The Asus options look good on there currently. I have a year old mid range Lenovo from them with i7 processor that does all I want.

I'd always go for building one.
Make sure you get an Ivy Bridge CPU it supports PCIe 3.0 amongst

For HD Video you need a decent spec. graphics card that will
work with MadVR LINK

I find DIY so fulfilling. Go for 32GB if you're playing around in Photoshop and tend to have a lot of layers open. I find 16GB is fine for Lightroom IMHO.
As for me, all I know is that I know nothing.

I let Dell do all the work.
We had a BBQ this evening. Too much red wine consumed, and His Nibs now watching the Final.
Good News - it's the Final. Bad News Football season starts again on August 9th, with the Commonwealth games to fill in the hiatus

Our next door but one neighbours know how to do things. They have a bar in the garden, with pinball machine, Sky TV and a full stock of drinks. It wouldn't look out of place on a beach somewhere.
As for us, we don't do football.....

I've got an Asus NV56 with Ivybridge i7 processor, a fabulous full HD screen and the best audio I've ever heard from a laptop. It sounds much better than my Panasonic Digital radio

Hopefully it won't go to penalties, if for no other reason than it is already well past bedtime.
His Nibs had to be up again at 6am and it is 11.30pm.

Well that's that for another four years. No doubt they start qualifying for the Europeans soon.
