I'm going to the 'in-laws' house which is on Jawbone Hill in Oughtibridge, Sheffield. Their house has a field at the back which has access to Jawbone Hill and an uninterrupted view down the hill from an elevated point. This should be heaven for great images, but I'm a bit nervous in case I mess up!
Cheers

Why if they really are intelligent have they came here in the first place ?
Why are they never thought of as friendly ?
Why are they ALWAYS going to be wiped out by the lone hero when the whole might of the US Armed Forces couldn't manage it ?

Between football, tennis and the tour I am sick of sport on TV. Just get over this lot and the Commonwealth games start.

Living here Gwyn - how do you think I feel ?
The roads are going to be absolutely chaotic !! My physio clinic is moving for a month - and I won't be able to get at it in its temporary home - anything North, East or Southeast from here is going to be a no-go area during the games.

It took Sue three and a half hours to do a 40 minute round trip this afternoon. Total chaos.
And that's without any sort of games at all.

His Nibs has been in Istanbul for a few days working (what retirement??). He came home this afternoon, and would normally have got the train to a nearby town where i would have picked him up, and his colleague would have stayed on the train to the east of the country.
Early this morning though a lorry managed to park itself of the tracks next to the main motorway between Amsterdam and Schiphol. It swerved to avoid hitting a lorry which had just hit a car, and went through the barriers and landed, right way up on the tracks.
Utter chaos as a result, which lasted all day, and only got worse when the station they were diverting people through had a complete power failure.
I ended up battling Friday afternoon traffic (which was made worse by the fact the the motorway by the lorry was still closed for repair). Normally the round trip is an hour and a half max. This time it was over three hours.
We dropped the colleague off at a station were we knew the trains were running, so hopefully he made it home OK.
We then had to quickly walk the dog and head to my son's to babysit. Eventually we go to eat at about 9.30.
I felt sorry for all the tourists at Schiphol who didn't have a clue what was happening or why they couldn't get a train. Buses were laid on, but there are never enough of them to stop huge queues forming.
