Frogfish - thanks for the insight I was thinking that my choice would be 'too close' and did think abt the DA15. But I think that it'll be a little to wide for my uses. I tend to use a 28 and 46 (from my FA31), so the DA21 and Sigma 30mm aren't too far off in 35 equivs.

Regarding the DA40, I kind of found using a 50 or 55 too long, and don't really go there unless I'm doing a close up of an object. So I was thinking the DA40 would be better than a 50, and is cheaper than the FA43mm. It gets bonus marks for the tiny size though as I want a small quality set up for my travels.

I'm thinkin of all 3 of the lenses I mentioned in the long term. I just paid for the DA21, and only one of the Sigma 30 or DA40 next due to my budget. The Sigma will probably wait as it's summer (less need for fast glass apart from bokeh due to more daylight)

I agree about a DA*16 - 24mm used to be my most favourite focal length before I got a pentax, guess thats why I was tempted with the Sony NEX or Samsung NX systems. However they don't really have anything else covering my other fav lengths, or the pentax colours

I wonder if Pentax will make a few more WR primes, I think they need it. Their flagship pro/semi-pro DSLR is WR, but IMO their WR lens line up fall short to make a WR system a pro might want.

I'd certainly like a DA16* (f/2?), a 50mm equiv @ f/1.4 (though difficult because of the 35's and 31 pentax has) and a version 2 of the 16-50mm with better corners and a new SDM

I know this has probably all been said somewhere else
