An afternnon stroll

I had to take Jacob to a party this afternoon and wait for him, so I spent the time strolling along the promenade. I'd missed most of the decent light, but still got some shots.

I'll go back and have another look at number 4, but I don't think I "upped" the saturation on that one. Just tweaked the curves.

I did try to lighten the first one, but, as you say, it ruined the orange glow.

I agree the first one would benefit from adjustment, it would be really nice. In Lightroom ......I'd increase the exposure, then apply a graduated filter to darken the sky. Use a bit of fill light for the foreground, then increase saturation to keep a warm glow

The last 2 are good examples of shooting night time scenes when there is still some colour in the sky.

Nice light and clarity in the first one. I also like the 5th one a lot, perfect detail and DOF, and those turquoise colours compliments the rusty red perfectly.

Beautifully warm and atmospheric - 4 & 5 are brill - almost makes you want to visit New Brighton !!

I too be a lover of rust and all the colours that go with it. I am so jealous of all of you that get it right as somehow I do not get the colours I want, so I enjoy others pictures till one day I will get it right.
