A few people

So on Saturday before I managed to break a bone in my foot, rip the ligaments and tendons and put half my leg in a cast we went to Cardiff Bay to take the kids for a walk which suited me as I wanted to scope out angles and which way the pink hut that is there faced ready for the right night with the right light. They are in a different thread but here are a few 'people images' I shot. As this was for me a more reconnaissance mission I travelled light with just the DA* 16-50mm, no filters, tripod etc.

That last one is excellent, and the B&W really suits it

Absolutely love the humour of 1, and 5 is a stand out.

A characterful glimpse of Bay life! I like the third in colour ,... very good how you've balanced the wider scene with the lighting on the subjects, almost as if there are flashes set up there somewhere. Plus there's a lovely balance of elements, from the sky to the placement of the frame edges.

Now come on Gareth, No,4, have you done that 'pole sticking out of head' thing on purpose??!!! Even if you have, it doesn't make it look any good I'm afraid

Thanks all! Appreciate the comments! The old couple were lovely, on the way back she was awake and I shot another image of them but it didn't have the same appeal. You're right, the way she's sat with her hat it has a comical look to it.

There is just the one telescope at the Bay where this was taken Nigel so unfortunately it's not been added. I could clone it out but it was there when shot and I kinda like it, I think it adds to the frame, like the pole you'd see at the end of an old jetty so it stayed!

The last picture they were all looking around at different things. Just as I was about to press the shutter the one lady clocked me and gave me a smile. I kinda like the way she has eye contact but the others don't. I also cropped it with space on the right to give the man on the far right some 'looking' room as he's looking over into that space.

Ouch... Lovely set... Rather like no.3 for the slightly retro/old school lazy days feel... Good luck with the rehab...
