Hi Emma,
I`ve got a similar one - the VEHO VFS 006 35mm scanner - can be used independently of the computer and is fairly basic/uncomplicated to use.Takes 5 negs or 4 slides and plugs into the mains.Fairly accurate and a little slow - maybe 1 scan every 5 seconds - but the shots can be transferred from the SD card to the computer for editing/cleaning etc.I have just copied 100x5 negs with another 800 to go

I have a similar scanner to the one you've linked to. It's great when you have a lot of 'legacy' negs and slides and just want to move them to digital storage, but unless you're going to get heavily involved in pp the quality is, at best, 'ok', and it's pretty time consuming!

Yes that was the plan. I have got a lot of darkroom equipment just need to find out how to use it all was just wondering if I could use one of these for the time being

Good point John - I too thought that - but at £75 for 150 strips I was a teensy weensy put off by my local digi-shop - and they were the cheapest.
I`m happy to archive what I got and keep on shooting for the perfect shot.

One scan every 5 seconds! Thats blisteringly fast in scanland but is it any good?

You tell me Ken - apart from a bit of dust on the neg ( sloppy workmanship ! )I reckon this is pretty close - original with Pentax me Super and either Kodak 400 or Fuji Reala

I use one from Maplins, same thing, different name, this is a scan from B&W
So they do work.
The MZ-6 is a fine camera, currently it's my choice for film, enjoy it when you get it, next stop, AGFA Rondinax 35u developing tank, trust me...
Forgot to mention film used was Ilford FP4

I got the camera yesterday brought Ilford HP5 today want to get out and take some shots but thinking how to get them on computer. I did look at the one in maplins today and when I got home thought Ill have a look on ebay its a tenner cheaper on there

Do a search for the Rondinax, They're so much easier to load than a standard tank, apart from that everything else is pretty much the same, just follow the instructions. See this link for an idea of what to do.

Well I suppose its ok for the price but I'm afraid I wouldn't find that acceptable. I use a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV, they do appear on ebay quite often.

I picked up the earlier Dual Scan III for a hundred quid second hand. I have been very pleased with it, and the maximum resolution is not that many pixels short of the K20D.
It really depends on what you want to do with the images. I am not intending to get rid of my slides so I just scan the ones I need/want and take my time over them.
