110 Film Cartridge Availability and Processing

Here in the UK, Jessops still process the film, they have to send it off and told me it would take a month, my film was back in 8 days! Very reasonable cost too. They also sell 110 film, however you will need to cut back the little ISO indicator tab or the Auto 110 will think the 400 asa is actually a 200 asa and over expose.
I have looked for online sources and they are often very expensive and quote a 3 month turn around!

Mac - I love my 110, but haven't actually used it in a few years - other than taking it out and exercising the shutter (without film) once or twice a year...
I've purchased 110 from this guy (he's in Alberta...) when I couldn't find it locally : http://www.frugalphotographer.com/cat110.htm
but a lot of non-chain camera stores may have old stock, and as long as it's been kept cold (or even better - frozen) it should still take a good image...
and processing info here : http://www.frugalphotographer.com/catLabServices.htm
but these guys are closer to you : http://www.photo-maitre.com/ (I think - my french is rusty...)
I used to get mine done at Throop Imaging when I lived in Ottawa : http://throopphoto.fotosource.com/
I suspect that even the stores that say they process 110 may be mailing their stuff out now...
Good luck

All modern 110 carts are 100ASA indexed, which isn't too bad for 200ISO film but causes havoc with Kodak gold 400. AFAIK Kodak are the only ones making 400ISO film in 110 carts.beakynet wrote:

I've ordered 10 Konica cartridges at 200ASA from an outfit in the US. They've been cold stored with a 12/2007 date.
Hopefully, 200 ASA won't cause any problems - it looks like it will cost quite a lot to find out.
My first estimates seem to be seven times more than 35mm.
Takes me back to my early days (1962) in photography, when I had to be very careful with every shot, and flubs HURT
Really different from digital! (at which I'm a flub expert!)
I'm really looking forward to playing with this little guy
Building a tiny shelf, so it won't be dwarfed by its "normal" relatives.
Cheers everyone,

my Auto110 always performed pretty well with Fuji Superior 200 film indexed as 100, so you should be fine.

Mongoose,
Thanks for the encouraging news!
I've found an eBay site in France which is TOTALLY dedicated to Pentax Auto 110.
There seems to be a fierce following for these little guys!
I think there was an earlier thread on this forum wishing for a digital sensor. That would sure have a market! ? !

Hey Mac
I just purchased an awesome 110 Super on eBay last week-it came with 3 lenses and flash and batteries. I havent had a chance to use it (no more film) but it looks great. I have another one but just camera and one lense so Im pleased to be able to add to it. Anyway, I see theres lots of sites for film-Ill see if its as available as it appears and will post success (or lack of later). Oh and I bought the entire kit, original box, warranty card and all for 51$. Cheers Gene in California (but formerly ON)!!

One of the neatest gems over the years has to be the little Auto 110 SLR, and they become available for sale every so often,
I'd like to get one and actually use it a bit, but don't know if film and processing are practicable.
For the limited number of shots that I'd actually take, I wouldn't rule out using the mails.
Does anyone have suggestions?
Cheers,
