'Focus on Imaging' 2007 show

I was hoping to go to the 2007 'focus' show to see all of the current/new Pentax lens range. However, having learned the hard way with 'Focus' to ALWAYS look at the website before travelling expectantly to see particular products, I now note that Pentax is not listed among the exhibitors as yet....

Does anyone know if pentax will make a showing, or are they yet another of the growing list of big name photo companies to ignore "Europes number one Photo Industry Event"

Three years ago I had an excellent trip up from London and got to the NEC in an hour and a half,.....only to join a two hour queue to park as there turned out to be 6 exhibitions happening simultaneously and the local radio reported that I was but one of 10,000 cars trying to get in!!!!!

Once I did gain entry, after filling in a form which required me to state any birth marks my grandmother had, I found that none of the 6 products I was hoping to see were even represented at the show!!!

I have not been to 'Focus' since.

Pentax will not be at Focus this year. There will however, be a presence at the Outdoor Show at the NEC in March.

Hi Mike, and welcome to the forum. I don't wish to pry, but from your name are you involved with Pentax commercially? If so, double welcome.

IIRC, Pentax shared their stall last year with Tamron.. but that's not happening now, I assume.

Last year we did share a stand with Tamron/Metz which as you are no doubt aware Intro2020 distributed products, I was in fact one of the guys manning the stand. Obviously this is not happening this year.

One of the reasons we are not continuing with Focus on Imaging is that we feel that we can use our budget more creatively. This is also the opinion of other manufacturers.

I'm sorry to hear that Mike, I was really looking forward to handling a K10D and a couple of the new lenses.

Myself and quite a few forum members are regular visitors to Focus and I think an exhibition is an ideal way to compare products from different manufacturers. It's nice to be able to wander around freely and chat with people that really know their stuff.

I'll most probably go again this year because I'm lucky enough to work just 15 minutes' walk away from the halls - parking the car is no problem (sorry folks, it's a small private car park) but I must say that I'm very disappointed
