I know you ask for a case but I find more often then not that I can not get the camera out and ready quick enough.
I found this as a solution and have one now on order (as I just made $150 of an old picture).
It may be worth more then a look for you. For me it is a perfect solution!
Just an idea.

My boss is using it and I had his for one weekend and now cant wait till I get my system.
Incidentally I bought the 2 camera version and for location shots when working with two cameras or for walks where I just want the camera with me it is just the item to use.
You can leave your tripod plate on as well (should you carry an tripod around with you).
Kind regards

That's the chappie! I have a black one though and usually just wear over the shoulder. Good for quick access though and has separate space for memory card / batteries. For £20 it is good value.

Plenty of options, thanks - I'll probably go with the Lowepro, not too keen on the last one - doesn't look like the K5 will fit in there anyway

Not a holster but I have a nice compact Lowepro Apex 120AW for trips with one zoom lens or 3 prime oombo. With a zoom you can use it holster-style.
Weatherproof cover is a bonus and it cost all of a tenner from the local LCE
