This is a very good lens, with a great range, even on crop sensor, on FF it'd be a killer. Compared to the Sigma 17-70mm, it holds up very well. Although the sigma might get ahead in sharpness, particularly at 24mm, the tammy has proven more consistent in focus. Plus it is FF and has a great range....

With 18cm it would be 1:5,31 with 18,5cm it would be 1:5,53 sadly not much macro but close enough :) 24mm you only need a small extension tube or reverse mount it and you can get very close. Should this be measured from the film/sensor plane?

It's an excellent lens, easily cleaned and optically as good as a Pentax lens. Interesting thought - I might give the cleaning a punt. I can't say I've dared dismantle a lens that far before, but I guess even if I turn it into a paperweight I'll only be a tenner down on my luck :)
