24.3 MP Exmor CMOS sensor
[quote:3496ace15f="Anvh"]Accurate... have some of you tried to other cameras AF? I have, plenty, I currently have to use a Nikon D300 at work, it's not that much faster, but more sophisticated and it's accurate in low light. John Yup this is where Pentax need to sort themselves out. The K-5 is ...

Smeggypants wrote, I wouldn't say no to ISO10. You won't get better IQ though, just an inbuilt ND filter : Surely a 'gap in the market' ? I would see very low ISO numbers as a feature, could allow me to dispense with theses ND filters, hmmmm, "May have to apply for a patent" !

24.3 MP Exmor CMOS sensor
Not if the camera does it automaticly for you. btw, why not just dump the whole camera all together? Most of these photos are created without one for example. http://preece.myexpose.com/gallery/

Dilema
It's not really an accuracy issue. (Though I have calibrated it to a T yet.) It's more of it getting stuck out of focus completely and me having to point it at the ground and focus..then focus back or grab the manual focus just to get it out of the "bind." It's not a noise or speed issue either. ...

people leave pentax site ??
Well PentaxExpert, I wouldn't blame you if you did dump Pentax for a FF competitiors model. A larger sensor and higher resolution would've rendered this scene (from your gallery/portfolio): In a much more flattering light, like this same scene shot (from a slightly different angle) with a Nikon...

Pentax Sensor Patent
interesting that the lens to sensor distance and the diagrams all seem to exclude the presence of a mirror.... so the objective appears to be to reduce reflections off an older lens's rear element on the sensor... Pentax K-mount Evil Camera?

"The decorative lenses keep age-old but sacrilegious" Love those translations. No better than the hilarious translations for English equipment manuals in the 1980s

I wonder if we are going to be offered a K-mount module to the Ricoh GXR system sometime soon ? After all they have announced a Leica-M module. Cheers, /Ian

B+W ND 110 3.0 -10BL 1,00x
There's some nice shots in there. I like #4. You probably know this already but you have some muck on your sensor. couple of spots at an angle in the upper half of the frame

Filter question
Apologies for an unusual and perhaps nerdy sounding question, but I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a graduated filter available that will progressively remove blue, and increase contrast, towards the top of the image? Does anyone know if such a thing exists? Or any ideas how I could make ...

Filter question
The filter would end up allowing less info getting to the sensor. But your intent is to reduce only unwanted light, while having the sensor work with only those frequencies you are wishing to capture. That means you can expose specifically for that desirable part of the spectrum, without blowing t...

Filter question
If AWB can correct the filter then surely the white balance can also mimic the filter so why use a filter to begin with? In general, we don't with digital photography, as many effects can be approximated in Photoshop. However, remember that a filter works by not just changing colour temperature, ...

Filter question
I use a UV filter, but to be honest, it doesn't seem to make any difference at all. I think I will try experimenting with different WB and see if that makes any difference. I know that IR pictures have far less haze, so I will try shifting the WB to the red end of the spectrum and see if that makes ...
