Not at all a waste of time. If nothing else it gave us an excuse to bump up a great camera. Second davidwozhere. I'd also back up your comment re. the knowledge and wisdom on this forum. I've also found it to be one of the friendliest. Great folk who are really willing to help with any query.

It could also be the advance film lever mechanism - they can gum up with old oil, a bit of new oil and working can free them back up. The spring is sluggish so doesn’t cock the lever ready for the shot with the advance wind. Can show as firing intermittently. https://youtu.be/NJUeXlA2qjM
