Oh and on dual drive lenses SDM is slower than the screw drive. Though presumably that's just an academic distinction. Or is there some way of selecting focus method that I've not come across? (And, given that we seem to be straying away from act of buying the lens, feel free to reply in a differe...

Hi all, Since I got my K7 in November last year, I've been doing more and more with the video it produces - I started looking to upgrade to the K5 just for the 1080p video, but it lacks the manual controls in video, so I'm jumping ship to a Panasonic GH2 after playing with a friends I'm sold on i...

WTB M42 adapter
I'm in exactly the same position :? There are a huge range of cheap third-party adapters available but many don't allow infinity focus and there are many sad examples of these getting stuck on the camera mount  The genuine Pentax adapters are still available new from SRS for around £65.00, wh...

WTB M42 adapter
I have two of them gathering dust as I have no M42 lenses and have no plans to buy any. They are not original Pentax but very, very good copies that include the spanner to remove them. They have the following text printed on the face of them:- "BOWER M42 PENTAX K/M JAPAN". I've used them with ...

Hi folks, Having to radically cut back my lens collection sadly, I'm going to certainly keep the Sigma 17-70 I bought as its going to be my walkaround but the following is for sale: Tamron 70-300 bought from blincodave on here a few weeks ago, not used it and can't see myself using it at the m...

FS: Tamron 70-300, Sigma 10-20, Pentax 35mm f2.4
Hi there! Considering the price you got for the Tammy, would you be interested in £60 p+p for the 70-300? Actually Chris paid me £70 including RMSD, so he is selling at a loss. This is a good deal for a lens in excellent condition. Dave Thanks for the clarification! Will check back in a day or tw...

For Sale PENTAX K-r with DAL 18-55mm Lens
This K-r and kit lens is in mint condition and has a low shutter count of 410. I bought it from SRS on 28th December 2010 so it has still 21 months warranty left. I got it for my Australian trip as my K-5 which had a sensor stain was not replaced in time. I have got the K-5 back now so the K-r ...

FOR SALE: SMC Pentax 1:1.2/50 (original K series 75-77)
Hi Axl, is that bit about the 49mm cap a typo? Someone I know is interested but currently has 49mm filters which he would like to continue using. Hi Tim, no it's not a typo. The lens is 52mm but... the hood has 2 empty filter rings on it, one from front and one from back (for normal and reversed mo...

FS: Promaster Spectrum7 AF 1.7x
Hey again, I just checked the TC with the mentioned 50-135 and it was a bit of a hit & miss. The lens focuses as usually so the contacts worked, but it failed to lock into focus too many times to make it reliable in my opinion. It works perfectly with normal screwdrive driven lenses though.

Pentax manual K mount required
Stu, I know this may be not helpful for your demand, but you might need to reconsider this. PB mount is similar to PK, but back element to film plan distance is closer than PK lens, in this case, you have to grind certain thinkness of PK mount to enable infinity focus as far as i heard from a fri...
