The impact the sensor size has on the lens
The lens in this case is 85mm so if the focus distance and the length from the lens to the film keeps the same we can say that the magnification of the lens is the same regardless the crop the film is making. You do agree on the right? No, that's the whole point. That's not right. Perhaps if you ...

The impact the sensor size has on the lens
Sorry about the delay getting back to you Stefan, but things have been a bit busy. I think there are two ways to approach this, the everyday practical way and the scientific theoretical way. I would suggest the latter is outside the scope of this forum for most readers, so I'd refer you to a t...

Digital Photography Course (City in Guilds 1)
Like cabstar I did AS and A level photography at a local college on an evening course. I found the advantages nearly the same, except Apple Macs being urghhh!!! as they had PC's (very slow compared to my mac and constantly had issues with virus's). However we did have feed back and assistance wi...

PENTAX MEET MAY>>>POLL
The first time we came to Spain we decided to drive down to the south and I let the wife navigate. Instead of following the motorway through a series of tunnels going through the mountains we ended up driving up and down each and every one .. all because she was munching on a packet of crisps and mi...

Jessops- again...
I feel a little sad that the whole situation leaves me cold. That is to say, I feel nothing at all. Once upon a time I would have felt devastated at the thought of losing Jessops. I had a truly good relationship with them and on more than one occasion I've had phone calls from them to say things ...

Jessops- again...
I've just fired off a letter to AP to express my opinion on David Adams' comments. (Just it too). Dan Well said Dan. Well here's another good one about AP. I took up the mail option with AP after not having it for about a year, seeing was going to "revamp" it's image and the Freebe of ...

Wich hosting website?
Hi Stefan, It is very easy to use. Upload times depends on your broadband connection, but it is fast enough for me. It has two types of upload managers. Both allow for batch uploading. If you have a paid pro account( I have the most expensive one at $100 p/year(Premium) You get various styles, for...

Manual Digital Body?
Whilst thinking which camera I would really like I got to thinking about what's available. I was sat with my MES and Optio E50 next to me and started wondering why Pentax don't do a manual focus digital body the same size(ish) as the old 'M' series? Not as daft as it sounds as many on here use...

Manual Digital Body?
I've frequently toyed with the idea of getting an old *ist and a Spotmatic and seeing what I can come up with. It would end up with a fairly bulky back and no built-in LCD screen, and I haven't yet figured out the exposure control, though I'd probably restrict it to manual with a top-mounted externa...

Manual Digital Body?
Oh, I don't know. I'd be very tempted by a digital MX! But an auto focus one would definitely sell better! However... it would be an APS-C sensor so they'd have to put an aperture ring on the DA lenses to get the old feel back (or reintroduce some of the old FA series!) Still, we can dream....

Manual Digital Body?
Digital MX, that's an even better name. Comparing the size of the optio to a film body only the sensor would seem to put thickness on, allowing for a standard 'K' mount fitting. With the modern circuits and thin screens it would be possible, heck my old Sony Cybershot U is only the size of 2 3...

A Case of Identity
Butcher, rather than Houghton. These were a range of German-made roll film cameras which will date up to 1914 when they stopped using German stuff. It was at around that date that they pooled with Houghton. It probably has a removable back for using plate adaptor too. Edited to say I can now see ...

Improving skills using histogram
Hi everyone I decided to start a second read of my K20D manual, this time immersing more into the details and trying to absorb some more technical aspects of it. Histogram is one of those aspects that I hadn't given a lot of attention on my first read, but this time I wanted to explore more i...

Hi Vikram, I will be there as I do every year, more than likely on the Tuesday, less crowds then! And still plenty of "Freebes".
