| Description | |
This time, as summer tries to arrive, I thought it might be good to get out and about and into the woods and forests. Could be a landscape, could be architecture, could be people in your images, but the brief is to shoot something in our woods and forests. I can feel the sun filtering through into leafy glades already..... |

WOW! I didn't expect that!
Thanks John for granting me my first ever weekly competition win - I've not thought of a subject for next week as it never occured to me I might be judging; I'll have a careful think and post something later this morning.

Congratulations to Hefty, lovely charming picture.I also liked Lilly,Aiki and Prieni's very much. Thanks to John for a quick judging round. As for my pic,the colour is what came out of the camera, but it was taken under a canopy off trees and there was weird greeny light conditions.More attention to white balance perhaps?Tony.

Many thanks to JR for his expert comments and choice of winners. Congratulations to Hefty on his first win - the first of many perhaps?
I had my own personal favourites in addition to Hefty's winner - I thought RR's squirrel had super quality, loved the light streaming through the trees in Flat4's entry and MikeW's leaves were great.
If I'd I'd come across Lilly's mud maid in the woods I'd have dropped the camera and galloped off to get the CID and SOCCOs.

Well done Hefty1, charming, asbolutly charming. You captured a feeling, I felt I was there. John, thank you for the judging it can't have been easy, so many of the entries were fab. BTW just for the record I didn't clone out (whatever that is) on my picture, it was submitted as taken. I havn't really got into post processing yet. I try to get it as good as I can when I take the shot & spend less time in front of the PC. Perhaps that will change when I into that side of things a bit more.
Once again, thank you.

Well deserved Hefty a most charming and fresh image and proves we do get sometimes a little too narrow minded in believing we have to avoid people in a shot, without them it would not have the same atmosphere and that dear 'ol lady, the DOF is superb...my winner too!
I also loved Aikis - my kind of image, a great mono, thank you J for my commendation

Thanks John, that was a nice surprise to come home to
I liked Hefty's too. A little PhotoShop, 'Water Colour' effect and it could be an "Old Master"
Hefty, I think you should print up lots of large versions of this picture and put them anywhere people get stressed, it will have a fantastic calming and relaxing effect.
Well done

Thanks Tony as well !
I have to say thanks to Malo ! He advised me to look for BW in that place.
